Assessment 2 Data Assessment in Organizations

Assessment 2 Data Assessment in Organizations

Overview

Write a 2–3-page presentation (in paper form) about a selected Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measure.

Health care measures define quality of care, inform financial decisions, quantify purchasing decisions, determine patient safety efforts, and provide a basis for developing performance improvement plans (PIPs). By measuring and carefully analyzing measures, health care managers are able to promote accountability across clinical, organizational, and financial realms of most health care organizations.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

  • Competency 4: Evaluate common internal sources of quantitative data used for internal decision-making.
    • Analyze how HEDIS measures apply to quality improvement.
    • Explain how organizations quantify the outcome of HEDIS measures.
    • Explain the utilization of quality topical measures.
    • Explain the benefits of meeting HEDIS measurements for a health facility.
    • Explain the benefits of meeting HEDIS measurements for a healthcare organization.
    • Explain the benefits of meeting HEDIS measurements for a community.
